Hi, I’m Cam Rentsch — a Chicano writer, filmmaker, and ultramarathon runner from Appalachia, now living in Missoula, Montana.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Creative Writing from Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Chicago. My creative nonfiction has appeared in Entropy Magazine and Indiana Review, and I received the Glenna Luschei Prairie Schooner Award for an essay published in Prairie Schooner.
Outside of writing and filmmaking, I spend most of my time running long distances in the mountains and exploring the outdoors.
This site is a place to gather my creative work—essays, films, and projects that connect story, place, and endurance. If something here resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you.
