about

Cameron Rentsch is a Chicano writer and ultramarathon runner from Appalachian Ohio, now based in Missoula, Montana. He holds a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and Creative Writing from Ohio State University and a Master’s in Anthropology from the University of Chicago.

His creative nonfiction has appeared in Entropy Magazine, Indiana Review, and Prairie Schooner, where he received the Glenna Luschei Prairie Schooner Award.

Outside of writing, he spends most of his time running long distances in the mountains — and working in the endurance sports world as a Lead Timer with Competitive Timing. He believes deeply in what endurance sports can give people, and he tries to give that back however he can.

This site gathers his creative work: essays and projects that connect story, place, and endurance. If something here resonates, he’d love to hear from you.
